He may not be fighting pro anymore and may be 45 years old but Floyd Mayweather proved he can still turn off the lights when he knocked out remarkable mixed martial arts Mikurua Asakura on Saturday in Japan. The exhibit comes as part of a multi-fight contract Mayweather has with the RIZN advertising network. The large crowd that gathered at the Saitama Super Arena witnessed a battle that, although brief, saw their fellow countryman battle the old ring quite effectively. However, when it was time to turn up the heat, Mayweather was still able to knock out his man when the second half was closing.
After the fight ended, Mayweather took a moment to politely greet the crowd and not succumb to his defeated foe. “A round of applause for this great competitor right here,” he told the live audience. Mayweather’s arch-rival Manny Pacquiao was on hand to see his old nemesis in action on Saturday – interesting as it is reported that Pacquiao himself now seems to want to take part in all sorts of exhibitions. fat that Mayweather has recently earned. With that said, Mayweather has said he’s not interested in going up against Pacquiao, whom he defeated in the long-awaited 2015 superfight, in the ring again.
