First pony born to Maryland-based Stallion Galawi
The first reported foal for Galaxies a chubby baby, born January 10 at Northview Stallion Station in Chesapeake City, Md. Born of children into naughty mare My Mischief, a mare bred by local Maryland breeders John and Victoria Price.
The Prices have placed My Mischief back in Galawi for the 2023 spawning season.
“(Galawi) is a very suitable horse with great presence and we are fortunate to have him in Maryland,” said John Price.
The chubby girl is My Mischief’s second pony, currently has a weaning daughter from Thousands of words .
Galawi retires from the Northview Stallion Stallion in 2022 after winning the US lone, first special weight class 1 1/4 mile long on grass at Belmont Park to trainer Graham Motion and owner/breeder Wertheimer & Frere.
The sporty 6-year-old stallion is one of the best pedigrees in the breed book, bred by the world’s top stallion dubawi and out of group 1 Galileo mare Galikova . His dam is the half-sister to the brilliant mare of the Hall of Fame race Goldikova who has won the Breeders’ Cup Mile (G1T) three times and earned over $7.1 million.
As one of Dubawi’s only two sons currently standing in North America, Galawi’s mating fee is returned at $2,000 for the 2023 breeding season.
