Before 2022 Belmont Park spring/summer meeting, which begins April 28, the New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) today released an update for fans planning to attend the race in person at Belmont Park this season.
Admission to Belmont Park will be $5 daily, in addition to the Belmont Stakes Racing Festival. Admission tickets can be purchased in advance via Ticketmaster.com or at any admission portal. Entrance will open at 11 a.m. daily, unless otherwise indicated. On Twilight race days, the entrance will open at 1pm
The NYRA will offer seasonal tickets to Belmont Park again in 2022, offering general admission to every live race day throughout spring/summer and fall, including all three days of the Belmont Stakes Racing Festival . Season tickets are available for $95 and can be purchased at NYRA.com.
Construction of the UBS Arena reduced the size of the Belmont Park backyard and resulted in updated safety and security protocols. Therefore, outside alcoholic beverages and large coolers will only be allowed in the Top of the Stretch designated picnic area. Fans will no longer be allowed into other areas of Belmont Park with alcoholic beverages outside or coolers larger than 12″x6″ in personal size.
Top of the Stretch tickets start at just $15 per person, which includes track admission and access to a communal table for the day. In addition to individual tables, the full areas in the Top of the Stretch can accommodate up to 48 guests and include six picnic tables and two charcoal grills. Smaller sections of Top of the Stretch can accommodate up to 32 guests and include four picnic tables.
Top of the Stretch ticket holders can enter Belmont Park through a dedicated entrance right next to the Top of the Stretch. For more information and to purchase tickets or secure group reservations to Top of the Stretch, visit NYRA.com/TopStretch.
These updated protocols do not apply to Saratoga Racecourse, where the longstanding NYRA policy allowing fans to enter with coolers and outside food and drink remains in place.
For April, the first post will be 1:20 p.m. daily before moving to 1 p.m. on May 1. Twilight racing will be available on Thursdays starting May 12. with the first posting at 3:05pm. The first post on Kentucky Derby Day, Saturday, May 7, will be at 12:20pm, and Preakness Day on Saturday, May 21 will have the first post at 12pm.
Priority parking will be provided to fans in the Clubhouse Gold and Silver lots, accessible through Gate 5, off the Hempstead Turnpike. Gold parking at the Clubhouse is $10 and Silver parking is $5 daily, outside of the Belmont Stakes Racing Festival. Prepaid parking can be purchased in advance through Ticketmaster.com. Parking day sales will only apply to credit cards [no cash payments]. Limited public parking will be provided in the Emerald area, accessible via Cross Island Parkway, Exit 26D; and the Blue lot, accessible via Gate 5 from the Hempstead Turnpike.
The Long Island Railroad (LIRR) will provide train service to and from Belmont Park every Saturday, throughout Memorial Day weekend and on Father’s Day [June 19] in the spring/summer encounter. The current schedule can be found at LIRR.com
LIRR will expand service to serve fans attending the 2022 Belmont Stakes Racing Festival, with schedules to be announced in advance of the event.
