Production for the 5th-generation G60 is said to begin in September this year with the first deliveries expected in early 2024.

Prototype BMW i5 Touring
The new-generation 5 Series and its electric i5 version, both offered in sedan and wagon form, have been widely spotted.
It is unclear if the Touring will be offered locally, as the wagon is not currently available to private buyers here.
Blog BMW Reportedly the 5 Series range will include the 520i and 530i four-cylinder petrol engines, the 520d four-cylinder diesel and the 540i inline six.
If going all-electric isn’t your cup of tea, expect two plug-in hybrid options, one with a four-cylinder engine and one with a six-cylinder.

The electric i5 will be offered with single-motor rear-wheel drive or four-motor four-wheel drive.
Reports suggest that the single-motor i5 eDrive40 will produce 247kW while the dual-engine i5 M60 will generate 447kW.
Final M5expected to be revealed later, is said to get plug-in hybrid power and an available body style.
It is expected to borrow the PHEV powertrain from the recently revealed version XM . SUV, including a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 with a capacity of 360kW/650Nm, an electric motor of 145kW/280Nm and a 25.7kWh battery pack. The total output power of the system is 480kW of power and 800Nm of torque.

Prototype BMW i5 M60
The interior of the 5 Series will be significantly upgraded with the introduction of BMW’s iDrive 8.5 infotainment technology.
The newly designed cabin will feature a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and 14.9-inch infotainment screen and, like other recent BMWs, will lose many of the physical switches.
The current generation BMW 5 Series has been on sale since 2016 and will be upgraded in 2020.
Its arch-rival, Mercedes-Benz E-Classwill also be revealed in a redesigned form in 2023.
