Finger Lakes Starts Meet for 90 Days on April 24


The Live Thoroughbred season will kick off from the gate at Finger Lakes Gaming & Racetrack on April 24, marking the 62nd consecutive racing season at the New York West Circuit. The 90-day scheduled meetup will begin with an eight-race Opening Day card starting at 1:15 p.m. ET.

The Saturday race is the feature event of the Opening Day card. The allowance test has attracted a group of classy older men and will be run at a distance of four and a half. Dr. Blarney was the 8-5 earliest favorite and has a resume that includes a total of 26 career wins. Student Karl Grusmark will be under the guidance of jockey Jacqueline Davis.

Lady’s golden boy beat the favorites in the morning when they last met in November. Intern Debra Breed completed a three-match winning streak to close out the 2022 meet.
