The first round of the 2024 Fusport FIM MiniGP Australia Series was held at the Oakleigh Go Kart track in Melbourne’s south-east early last month and you can Find a report on what happened there by clicking here.

The second round promises to be two exciting days of racing when it returns to Cameron Park near Newcastle this weekend. With last year’s 160cc and 190cc champions absent or moving to other classes due to age, there will be a chance for new faces to shine.

There are two classes for FIM MiniGP participants: GP-0 for 10-14 year olds riding 160 cc Ohvales with 10 inch wheels and GP-2 190 cc Ohvales with 12 inch wheels for 12–15 year olds. The 190cc class was introduced last year to widen the path for teenagers to continue in the class.

The question on everyone’s mind is whether the first round winners, Judd Plaisted (160cc) & Levi Russo (190cc), will continue their good form or will new challengers step up and take the top spot. board.

Given the competitive nature of the current top three in each class, there will be fierce battles on the track.

With the absence of some familiar names and some unfinished business with the track, it’s fair to say that spectators will come out to see a show in both the Füsport FIM MiniGP 160 & 190cc classes.

Adding to the scene this weekend are the Ohvale Veterans, Ohvale Novice & Pro classes and during this round the Supermoto machines will also join the action on the track.

On-track action begins at 08:30 on Saturday with practice and qualifying followed by the first support races on Saturday afternoon. Sunday brings the main events with races one and two of the Füsport FIM MiniGP class.
