FA Cup 3rd round matches: How to watch and live stream EPL teams playing in 2021-22



The Premier League will take a brief pause to allow the top clubs to begin their journey in the 2021-22 FA Cup with the aim of reaching the final at Wembley Stadium on May 14.

The tournament has reached its third round, when all Premier League and Championship clubs enter the competition. Matches ending in a draw after 90 minutes will go to extra time and penalty kicks if necessary.

The full schedule of the third round follows. Three of the 32 matches include head-to-head matches in the Premier League: Manchester United host Aston Villa at Old Trafford, Leicester City host Watford to King Power Stadium and West Ham take on Leeds United.

How to watch FA Cup 3rd round matches

All FA Cup third round developments will be covered by ESPN+ throughout the weekend. The ESPN streaming platform has exclusive rights to the competition in the US as well as other UK domestic cup competition, Carabao Cup or League Cup.

The 32-match standings include 21 matches over an eight-hour period on Saturday, January 8. The Manchester United vs Aston Villa match ends on Monday, January 10.

And there’s a bonus for fans in the midst of all the action: Sunday, January 9, will also watch the round 4 draw broadcast live at 11:50 a.m. ET, also on ESPN+.

FA Cup third round matches (January 7-10, 2022)

Sixty-four teams competed in the third round of the FA Cup, with most coming from two of English football’s top divisions:

  • English Premier League (first place): 20 clubs
  • British Championship (second place): 24 clubs
  • League One (third place): 8 clubs
  • Second prize (fourth place): 8 clubs
  • National Federation (fifth place): 3 clubs (Boreham Wood, Chesterfield, Yeovil Town)
  • National League North / South (sixth place): 1 club (Kidderminster Harriers)
