Sometimes, a super weird car model or the rare model built by the coach will pass auction block or sales list. Their unique designs and futuristic shapes are eye-catching, but the concepts aren’t always viable. A few years back, Nissan pulled back the curtain on its GT-R50 concept, a coach-built car GT-CHEAP designed by Italdesign. Instead of a single sale concept, the car you see here is one of 50 Nissan / Italdesign built for the road.
This GTR-50 is powered by Legendary motorbike in Ontario, Canada. That was 11 out of 50 planned, although the seller noted that only 19 were built. Nissan do not close the order book until July this year but has not yet confirmed the total production or the number of customers sold.
The GTR-50 is the celebration of the 50th birthday of the GT-R nameplate and Italdesign, the shop responsible for writing the concept. People became so enamored with the car that Nissan agreed to a limited production of 50 units. While instantly recognizable as a GT-R, the GTR-50 is a sleeker coach-built car with more interesting lines and a fun optional rear hydraulic wing.
Nissan car modification twin-turbo 3.8-liter V6 with turbocharger from the GT-R GT3 car and massaging the inside with more powerful pistons, new crankshaft, etc. Those updates have increased power from the 565 ponies of the standard car (the 2021 model year) to 710 hp. Torque increases to 585 pound-feet, nearly 100 more than the standard car, and Nissan has updated the six-speed dual-clutch transmission to handle the power.
Legendary Motorcar hasn’t announced a price for the GT-R50, but it’s a safe bet that it will sell for much more than the vast majority of people can afford. The 50 cars Nissan sold start at around $1.1 million, and the odometer still shows delivery distance. Given the recent excitement (and money) surrounding other rare car sales, this car could come as a shock.
