EVx 2023: New Tesla Model Y, Hyundai Ioniq 6, smart #1, BYD Dolphin all under one roof – free entry!
Oh boy yes we have a program for you. The paultan.org Electric Vehicle Exhibition (EVx) 2023 taking place this weekend, July 22-23 at Setia City Convention Center (SCCC) will be launching to the public some exciting new electric vehicle models, including for the Malaysian market Tesla Model Y, Hyundai Ioniq 6, smart #1 and BYD Dolphin!
Yes, Tesla will be at the EVx, showcasing the newly launched Model Y. With prices starting at RM199k, it’s been the talk of town lately – combined with Tesla’s brand prowess, unique looks, cutting-edge technology and exclusive access to the Supercharger network, the Model Y electric crossover is a package hard to miss.
Equally exciting is the new Hyundai Ioniq 6, which makes its local debut on July 21. The popular Ioniq 5’s sedan sibling boasts ultra-slick styling, state-of-the-art 800-volt electrical architecture and unprecedented 350 kW fast charging. Not only is it one of the most aerodynamically efficient cars in the world (0.21 Cd), but it’s also one of the fastest charging EVs available.
Sharing the limelight will be Smart #1, which will make its debut to the public in Malaysia at EVx 2023. Now a 50/50 joint venture between Geely and Mercedes-Benz, the Smart revival comes in the form of a stylish compact crossover that’s no different from a MINI Countryman. It even sits on a dedicated EV platform shared with the Lotus Eletre (which will also be at the show!).
Last but not least is the BYD Dolphin, which will soon become one of the most affordable electric vehicles in Malaysia. It will be available at EVx for public preview ahead of its official launch on July 27, where you’ll be able to clearly see its compact but not-so-small size and nice proportions. This is sure to be a bestseller, so it’s best to book your spot this weekend!
The car brands participating in EVx 2023 are Mercedes-Benz and smart (represented by Hap Seng Star and Smart Hap Seng respectively), BMW and MINI (represented by Wheelcorp Premium), Audi, Volvo, BYD, Hyundai, GWM and Lotus. Petronas, Gentari, JomCharge (via EV connection), evhub.my, Kineta, Bank Islam, Bank Muamalat, Avis, myTukar, V-Kool and Dodo Mat will also participate in the event.
