SA pharmacies deploy Modeus . electronic drug registry



Pharmacies across South Australia will soon adopt healthcare software provider Modeus’ intelligent controlled drug registration system.

Modeus has announced that it has won a bid from SA Health to provide an Electronic Register of Controlled Drugs to SA public hospital pharmacies.

Coming soon across pharmacies in SA, the HS8 Registrar of Controlled Drugs reduces the time spent keeping records of controlled drugs. The smart platform also features medication error prevention features, as well as administration and closed-loop security to ensure all controlled medications are tracked and calculated.

WHY IT IMPORTANT

SA Health, a leader in best practice medication management solutions, has chosen Modeus’ electronic drug registry to future-proof the management of controlled drug administration. In a statement, Michael Bakker, Head of Digital Health Portfolio SA Pharmaceuticals said this will leading to improved effectiveness as well as drug safety and compliance throughout its network.

TREND TO BIGGER WOMAN

This is the second win for Modeus State Hospital in Australia, after securing the tender to supply HS8 to hospitals and medical facilities across the country. Western Australia last year. Its electronic drug registry is available in more than 60 hospitals in Australia, including 36 locations of private healthcare provider Ramsay Health Care.

Outside Australia, HS8 has already been rolled out at NHS Dumfries in Scotland while more NHS hospitals are expected to roll out the system later this year.
