American fans of unified heavyweight champion Oleksander Usyk have something to celebrate. The WBO, IBF and WBA belt match against Daniel Dubois will be televised live in the United States from Wroclaw, Poland with the support of ESPN+ on August 26. Although many, if not most, though , fans want Usyk to take down the WBC and the next heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, the two factions have yet to come to an agreement. Furthermore, Fury is now clearly going up against former UFC heavyweight, Francis Ngannou. Furthermore, Dubois, although he’s not one of the top names in the league, has already earned his title. It’s good for him to finally achieve glory.

Indeed, the 25-year-old Dubois has only lost once in his 20 playing career. Furthermore, all but one of his 19 wins have come by knockout. A man with the power of Dubois is always interesting to watch because a warrior with the power only needs to land once. He last fought back in December, when he blocked Kevin Lerena for three innings. Furthermore, Dubois is younger and 2 inches taller than 36-year-old Usyk. If the young British tennis player shocks the world on August 26, surely ESPN will be delighted to broadcast the match on the ESPN+ broadcast venue.

However, defeating the undefeated Usyk was no easy task. One need only ask former unified heavyweight Anthony Joshua, who has beaten Usyk twice, about how good the Ukrainian boxer really is. Already the undisputed cruiser class champion of the world, Usyk moved into heavyweight in 2019. Less than two years later, Usyk won the WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight titles against Joshua. His successful defense of those titles (against Joshua) failed last year. The man has not fought since. When he stepped into the ring to face Dubois, it had been more than a year since Usyk had turned pro.

A citizen of war-torn Ukraine, Usyk expressed his happiness at fighting Dubois in Poland. “I am very happy that we have the opportunity to host my match in Poland, where I won my first world title seven years ago,” Usyk said. “I want to thank the Polish people for sincerely helping Ukraine,” he said. “Hundreds of thousands of my compatriots have been welcomed by this wonderful country.” As for Dubois, he is delighted at the opportunity to reach the top of his sport. He (Usyk) is a great boxer and I respect him, but now is my time,” Dubois said. BBC. “I’m going to shock the world and show everyone how good Daniel Dubois really is.”
