Results under the Davis-Cruz card: Fondura overtakes Garcia; Adames Bests Derevyanchenko; Ramirez decides Marriaga

Sunday night’s pay-per-view card from LA’s Staples Center kicked off with a scheduled 10 round 10 WBC featherweight lightweight match between 30-4 Miguel Marriaga and 25-2-3 Eduardo Ramirez . The first part of the fighting was pretty hectic, with both sides fighting each other. Indeed, the second saw each man have very powerful moments. About a third of the way through the 10th round scheduled, it looks like the fight will come down to who has more tanks. With that in mind, a brilliant ball brought Marriaga down at the end of the third round. However, Marriaga seems to have returned with legs that couldn’t be worse to wear.
In the middle of the round, Marriaga was stepping into action while Ramirez threw the heavy leather. However, things were different in the sixth installment, as Ramirez moved forward while unleashing a series of punches. As the duel progressed in the later rounds, Marriaga appeared weaker as she continued to be punished. The ninth round saw Marriaga enter the pure heart. Both men dashed away like warriors until the last bell rang. Needless to say, Ramirez left the ring with UD’s win.
Next, the famous 13-3 middleweight opponent Sergey Derevyanchenko confronts Carlos Adames 20-0-1 in the scheduled 10th round match. The first part of the fight was extremely engaging. Indeed, at the end of the second, the fighters appear to be at war, with Adames having the edge over his opponents in his game. The battle was still high-octane when it started midway through the set ten innings. By the end of the 5th round, the fighters were still shooting far away from each other.
Adames seemed to be draining his energy as the game progressed into the later rounds. Even so, he can at least keep his form against a focused Derevyanchenko. Everything still ends in an action-packed final round. It was a great fight. Adames was ultimately rewarded for a decisive majority victory.
The pay-per-view card is combined with a WBC base mid-tier removal. Sebastian Fundora 17-0-1 vs Sergio Garcia 33-0 in a scheduled 12th round. Fundora used its extra reach in the opening round. Garcia, meanwhile, tries to get Dempsey to play Fundora’s Willard. The first part of the contest was essentially a recreational contest between a taller man wanting to maintain range and a shorter man trying to get inside. Garcia has what appears to be a serious cut heading for the fifth installment.
In the middle of the fight, both men must have worked hard for their money. There may not have been any amazing displays of power, but the fighters have changed skins. As the game gets to the eighth round, it looks like Fundora may simply be too tall for her senior. Garcia didn’t stop trying, but he probably didn’t have the skills to best suit a man of Fundora’s height. Then again, Garcia is the more active of the two men in season nine.
Things get a bit sloppy in season ten, with both men perhaps a bit exhausted. The final rounds were enjoyable, with Fundora picking up the tempo and throwing combo punches. Garcia, on the other hand, continued to rush forward, completely giving her all. With all that said, Fundora is the one who could add another win to his record, thanks to a unanimous decision from the referees in his favor.
