Terence Crawford says his undisputed showdown with Errol Spence Jr will take place in Las Vegas this year.
The WBO . Weight Class Champion was a guest on the podcast of former rival Shawn Porter Porter Road.
The 34-year-old also revealed his plans beyond a confrontation with Spence should he succeed.
“We went to Vegas. Gotta is somewhere neutral,” Crawford replied when asked if he would go to Spence’s backyard in Dallas to play him.
“I am 100% confident it will happen this year. I mean what I said when I beat Spence, if Charlo doesn’t come forward, I’ll come for him. He’s on my hit list. I have two people on my hit list, Spence then Jermell. ”
Charlo became the undisputed super champ last weekend stopping Brian Castaño in 10thorder their rematch. Crawford and Charlo took aim at other quotes in the past and if ‘Bud’ vs ‘Iron Man’ at 154lbs, he will aim to be the four-weight world champion.
Spence and Crawford have long been linked with a fight against each other and many feel that the match may be overdue. Porter disagrees with such a view believing the fight came at the right time, describing it as ‘greatness’ and placing it on a par with Sugar Ray Leonard v Tommy Hearns and Floyd Mayweather v Manny Pacquiao.
Crawford said: “I am very happy about that.
“I just can’t wait until the contract is signed. I have to go to training camp; I just picture myself walking down that aisle to put on a great show. I know me, I’ve been waiting for this moment all my life to show everyone who I am, Terence Crawford. It’s right there. ”
Crawford was asked by podcast regular Sean Zittel about the style of the game and if his famous counter-punch would be an advantage in the face of intense pressure that Spence brings.
“I don’t see my whole career as just a counter-attacker,” says Crawford.
“I feel like I can be in the pocket. I feel like I could be the first and the last. I can access, I can switch, I can do many things within. Many people say I started slow but finished strong. It will make for a great, exciting fight. Whatever he brings to the table, we’ll be 120% ready for it. His onslaught with pressure and all that, we’ll be ready. ”
