Caroline Dubois set for shields-Marshall . card slot
Caroline Dubois looks to be back soon after she shines again.
The former Team GB Olympian claimed his third win by paid code Saturday night.
Dubois is in action at the Bournemouth International Centre, live exclusively on Sky Sports, as part of the supporting cast to Defended Chris Billam-Smith’s European and Commonwealth cruiser title against Isaac Chamberlain.
The sister of ‘regular’ WBA heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois, 21, beat Happy Daudi in three rounds, with referee John Latham ordering the bout to be halted after 46 seconds of the third round.
But ‘Sweet Caroline’ is about to elevate her reputation even further when she returns, having been awarded a spot on the bottom line of an undisputed world title scramble.
Dubois and promoter Ben Shalom have confirmed that her next outing will be on September 10 in London as part of Claressa Shields’ clash with Savannah Marshall.
Shields, the WBC, IBF and WBA champion in the middleweight division, fights Marshall, the WBO champion, in her only failed rematch in boxing.
“I wanted to fight on that show,” Dubois said. “I’m getting more and more interested in the pro ranks and I feel like I just need to deal with throwing punches with bad intentions and that’s what I’m doing here.”
Shalom commended Dubois while confirming her appearance on a card that will also feature a women’s super featherweight unification match between Mikaela Mayer and Alycia Baumgardner. Mayer holds the WBO crown, with Baumgardner as the current manager of the WBC and IBO titles.
“What a performance,” Shalom said of the youngster. “Every time she steps into the ring, she makes an impression. September 10, she will be on the card. “
Dubois is delighted to showcase his skills on one of the biggest stages of them all as Sky Sports looks to lead the way for the next generation of stars.
“It was a crazy card,” she added. “It has great fighters coming in. Not only great female boxers, but only great boxers in general and anyone who loves boxing needs to mingle.”
