As Shawn Porter and Terence Crawford engaged in a back-and-forth fight, Errol Spence Jr thoroughly enjoyed his view from the seat next to him.

A crowd of just over 11,000 people at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, regularly stood up for much of the night. Although Crawford tried to resist a patient fight, Porter refused to let him do so. With his constant pressure, Crawford was at one point forced to bite his mouth and use fire to fight the fire.

Although everything seemed to be over, Crawford continued the work. The WBO prep beat Porter with a powerful right-hand drive in the middle of the ring early in the 10th round. After tasting the canvas for the first time of the night, Crawford immediately followed it up with a series of hits. punch saw his man hit the deck again.

An angry Porter slammed his gloves on the tarp before getting up again. Although he appeared unwilling to continue his all-out fight, Kenny Porter, his coach and father, waved a white flag and called for a halt to their competition.

When Spence Jr came into view, he was both surprised and completely disagreed with Kenny Porter’s decision.

Spence Jr told ESNEWS: “His father stopped it too soon. “His father tripped.”

While Spence Jr was bewildered by the whole ordeal, Kenny Porter refused to let his son suffer unnecessary blows. After a dramatic and unexpected ending to their performance, Kenny Porter revealed that his son didn’t prepare in the way he expected.

In fact, once Shawn Porter revealed that the fight against Crawford would be his last appearance in the ring, Kenny Porter remained rock and unfazed.

With Porter officially retiring from sports, he is just minutes away from possibly having the biggest win of his career. In injury time, both Dave Moretti and Steve Weisfeld had the score 86-85 in favor of Crawford. Max DeLuca also had a reasonable approach, scoring 87-84 in favor of Crawford.

Although all three referees considered Crawford the slightly better boxer in injury time, Spence Jr revealed that his scoreboard was slightly different.

“I had Porter up. Porter did well, I think Porter could have won. ”
