Kagiso Rabada won a stellar 5-stroke as South Africa beat England by a total of 165 on Day 2 of the First Test taking place at the Lord Cricket Ground. In response, South Africa got off to a solid start with the captain Dean Elgar and opener Sarel Erwee. Elgar and Erwee added 85 runs to the first match, before the former was eliminated in one of the most unfortunate ways. Elgar tried to work James Andersonis delivering goods out of his pads. However, the ball cut through the thigh guard and then bounced off his right arm before hitting the stump.

Notably, Elgar was caught behind his back Stuart Broad but his immediate assessment showed that the ball had hit his pad, not the club.
Also, Southpaw defeated seven when he overpowered Matthew Pottsonly for Zak Crawley to drop a lofty missed catch through his hand.
Prior to that, Rabada had finished 5 to 52 in 19 rounds – the 12th time he had won 5 unders in a test round.
Anrich Nortje followed up Rabada’s early good work by taking three wicks, including the highly form-appreciated scalp. Jonny Bairstow for a duck.
Ollie Pope’s 73 is the only double of an English professional, with the next best contribution coming from the England captain and all-around player. Ben Stokeswho created 20.
