“See you next season”: Virat Kohli’s emotional message after RCB withdrew from IPL 2022

After Royal Challengers Bangalore’s 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL) journey ended with a defeat to Rajasthan Royals in Qualifier 2, the star hitter Virat kohli took to social media on Saturday and wrote an emotional note to everyone involved with the franchise. Kohli was fired for just seven runs in RCB’s seven-point loss to RR at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Friday. The former RCB captain thanked the “12th Army” and management for their continued support throughout the season, and said they “make cricket special”.
“Sometimes you win and sometimes you don’t, but 12 Man Army, you’ve been amazing, supporting us throughout our campaign. You made cricket so special. all who are part of this great franchise. See you next season,” Kohli captioned the post.

Kohli’s difficulties at IPL 2022 are quite evident as the 33-year-old has scored just 341 runs in 16 matches, covering two half-century.
Amid his recent struggles, several former cricketers, including the former head coach of India Ravi Shastrisaid that Kohli should take a break from sports.
Kohli has been rested for the upcoming five-match T20I series against South Africa, which kicks off June 9.

KL Rahul will lead the team in the absence of captain Rohit Sharma, who also experienced a bad game during the ongoing IPL season.
Both Kohli and Rohit are set to return to competition in the One Time Test against England, which will take place July 1-5 at Edgbaston in Birmingham.
