Educator to Become the First Royal Runner Since Queen Elizabeth II’s Death

It is hard to believe that a month has passed since the passing of Queen Elizabeth II’s. As England is coming out of its mourning period and moving forward with King Charles III, the numerous sporting events that were postponed for her passing are now being played. Whether it be football matches or horse racing, the English people are trying to look toward the future, rather than lingering on the past.

And, one of the biggest upcoming events in British sports is coming up. The Cheltenham November Meeting is one of the most important and prestigious horse racing events in the country, and maybe even the world. One of the highest honors that a horse can get in these tournaments, is being named a Royal Runner. And, King Charles has already chosen the horse to carry the silk. Educator is the horse chosen to serve as the royal runner. The first one after the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

Who is Educator?

Educator is a three-year-old Brown Colt. The son of Deep Impact, a Japanese thoroughbred who won the Japanese Triple Crown and Cup in his days, Educator is no slouch in his own right. Over the course of his lifetime, he has run in 5 races, and has won 2 of them, placing second in the other two. Based on these stats, Educator has strong potential according to experts on the sport and on horses.

Educator is currently trained by William Haggas, and while recently he has been faced with certain setbacks, the Brown Colt is coming back with a vengeance for his autumn campaign. It was his victory at Newmarket that pushed the horse up to the top. During this race, he defeated High Fibre and placed in first at the race. Since then, he has been doing quite well on the national circuit, and in the eyes of many is certainly worthy of carrying the royal silks.

Educator’s Track Record

Educator is still young. However, already he has seen some major success in the sport. Just recently, he placed second while running at Salisbury. However, many see a greater potential in Educator. After all, of the five races in which he has raced thus far, Educator has won two and placed 2nd in two. Meaning there is only one race in which he hasn’t done well. After his setback, many are noticing that Educator is fully back in the game, and are hoping that he can repeat the success of another young horse.

For those who aren’t aware what we are talking about, Educator was originally being trained by William Hagas for the Cazoo Derby race. However, due to certain setbacks caused by injuries, these plans had to be scrapped. Fans of the horse then had cause for worry. After all, Educator’s future seemed uncertain. Luckily, the brown colt came back during the autumn season. After his massive success in his first couple of races back, Educator has won back the faith of all those who lost it.

Final Say

As horse racing is growing in esteem and popularity, so too are the numerous horse racing betting websites that are popping up all over the internet. The sport has always been massively popular in the United Kingdom, however, nowadays it is spreading to other countries and growing in popularity.

The United Kingdom, however, remains home to some of the biggest and most prestigious races in the world. This includes the Cheltenham, the Royal Ascot, etc. With the Cheltenham just around the corner, King Charles III has already named the first royal runner after his mother’s passing.

Educator now carries the royal silk. The brown colt is certainly a worthy carrier of the title and we hope he will prove a successful champion in the tournaments to come.
