Eddie Hearn: “He [Dereck Chisora] Can defeat Deontay Wilder”

Losses are piling up rapidly for heavyweight contender Dereck Chisora.
At 38 years old, Chisora is still without a win since facing David Price in 2019. Since then, the English-born international has found he has ended up losing in three close decisions. like a razor.
On Halloween 2020, Chisora gave current unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk all he could handle. While rough and rugged opponents would corner the Ukrainian star, he was unable to secure victory. Seven months later, Chisora suffered another defeat, this time at the hands of Joseph Parker.
Most recently, both Chisora and Parker locked horns in an instant rematch. Though he gave it all he had, Chisora was dropped three times before losing by a unanimous decision.
With another defeat smeared on his résumé, many, including Parker, have urged the 38-year-old to call it a career. On the other hand, promoter Eddie Hearn doesn’t believe Chisora necessarily slows down.
“I don’t see Dereck Chisora deteriorating,” Hearn said in an interview with IFL TV. “But what I see is him in a lot of tough battles. He is losing to elite heavyweights. ”
Even as Chisora hit a rough patch and seemed to be running low on strings, Hearn believed he could still compete with some of the division’s best. With former heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder now in a tough spot of his own, after suffering successive defeats at the hands of Tyson Fury, Hearn has begun to fantasize about a duel between the pair. .
Hearn did not believe that Chisora would be surpassed by the person on the old list. In fact, if the longtime promoter was a gambler, he would bet that Chisora could relieve his sadness, as long as he stayed out of harm’s way.
“I wouldn’t suggest but if Del [Chisora] want to fight Deontay Wilder, he can beat Deontay Wilder. If he gets hit in the first three or four innings, well, maybe anytime in the fight it could be over but he might outlast Deontay Wilder and knock him down. As for me, I’m not out there actively looking for a Dereck Chisora vs. Deontay Wilder but I can’t deny I want to see it. ”
