There is not just one type of laser process. They vary, and some are better suited to certain skin types and needs. Hartman has broken down the ones that are most common to us:

Erbium: “An erbium laser offers a gentler and less invasive treatment option than a carbon dioxide (CO2) laser,” says Hartman. “CO2 lasers are able to remove deeper layers of damaged skin than erbium lasers.
