Developer Yooka-Laylee Playtonic warns of ‘Lil Gator Game’ scam

Developer Yooka-Laylee and publisher Playtonic Games have issued a social media warning about a new scam that’s currently making rounds – linked to a game it’s publishing.

Looks like “someone” is offering a beta test opportunity for MegaWobble’s Game Lil Gator. slated to release on Nintendo Switch and many other platforms this year. Apparently, it’s actually a scam.

Here is the full summary from Playtonic, which advises players not to click on any of the links provided in the scam messages:

“We noticed that someone is providing beta testing for Lil Gator Game. We can confirm this is a SCAM and not from Playtonic or @LilGatorGame. If we make this available to our community , we will announce on our Twitter and not through any other channel.

“Please DO NOT click on links provided in phishing messages! If you receive any suspicious messages that are believed to be from Playtonic, please let us know. Keep everyone safe”

In the Lil Gator Game, players will embark on a “lovely” adventure – discovering new friends and discovering everything an island has to offer as they climb, swim, surf and slide. You can learn about this game in our origin story:
