Continental ComfortContact CC7 launched in Malaysia

After the introduction of UltraContact UC7, Continental Tires has now officially launched the new ComfortContact CC7 for the Asia Pacific region, including Malaysia. The CC7 is the latest in the Generation 7 tire lineup and builds on the company’s Comfort+ Technology including ‘ZEN’.

This approach is reflected in the CC7’s sidewall design, which features distinctive patterns as well as easter eggs such as vibrato (musical notes) and small ‘CC7’ writing. Aesthetic changes aside, the CC7 improves upon its predecessor, the CC6, by offering better handling, wet braking, dry braking, and fuel economy.

The ‘Z’ in ‘ZEN’ refers to the CC7’s Shock-Free Model that aims to absorb shock with a unique tread pattern design consisting of a continuous ribbed construction and grooves. Meanwhille, ‘E’ for EverFlex Compound, was developed to be soft and flexible to better adapt to rough pavement.

The EverFlex compound also extends tire life and helps reduce vibration and harshness, along with noise, making up the NVH, the epitome of a tire’s comfort parameters.

This leads to the ‘N’, which is the CC7’s Noise Interrupter that includes the Noise Breaker 3.0 – elements that protrude along the tire tread to break up sound waves into smaller sound waves. The patterned surface also features noise-absorbing chambers that operate on the principle of a Helmholtz resonator, attracting air waves and absorbing noise frequencies before they can escape.

The ‘ZEN’ technologies on CC7 were developed by a team of more than 30 global engineers and experts who spent more than 7,500 hours designing, simulating, building and testing the prototype. The development of the tire, which took place seven years after the CC6 was introduced in 2016, also saw 500 tests carried out in various road and laboratory conditions, covering sufficient distance. to circumnavigate the planet seven times.

“Through our understanding of the market, we know that the key criterion for drivers in Asia Pacific is comfort, compared to their Western and European counterparts. As a result, Continental has built a reputation across our entire Asia-specific product line for quieter and more comfortable tyres. “The ComfortContact CC7 represents our flagship product in the comfort vehicle segment,” said Dalibor Kalina, head of tire replacement Asia Pacific.

Andrea Somorova, managing director of Continental Tire Malaysia said: “Given the unique requirements of different customer bases as well as the need for innovative technology, we dig deep to understand the needs of our customers. drive in Malaysia and create a product that meets these requirements.

The CC7 is available in 13 to 16 inch tires with widths from 165 to 215 mm as well as tire aspect ratios from 50 to 70. Tires are manufactured at Continental’s factories in Alor Setar, Malaysia. as well as Rayong in Thailand.
