General Motors confirms that they have listed Official range of GMC Hummer EV at 329 miles. But it gets complicated, because the Version 1 is an EPA-classified heavy-duty truck, so the official EPA rating won’t be shown on the window sticker. However, ahead of other future lightweight Hummer EVs, it aims to create something close to an apple-to-apple comparison.
GM also provided an update on 2023 Cadillac Lyriq Electric SUV. While there has been an accelerated development program, it has completed many of the traditional endurance tests and is still ahead of the original schedule, which should now arrive in the spring of 2022.
2023 Cadillac Lyriq test
NS Internal version of the Better Rebuilding Act passed last week includes a tax credit for used electric vehicles, a new dividing line at 40 kWh and a highly controversial union-run bonus. All of this is being hashed out in the Senate. Meanwhile, California earlier this month approved a $1.4 billion infrastructure boost for 2021-2023and it could help establish the next level of charging infrastructure for battery electric vehicles and fueling infrastructure for hydrogen fuel cell cars and trucks.
Automakers don’t use all the tools they have at their disposal to boost fuel economy — because as a carmaker EPA’s annual report helped emphasize, they are sitting on a pile of credit that some are arguing makes compliance too easy.

Trailer for Polestar 5 (Precept) coming in 2024
The Polestar Precept concept is evolving into a production model called the Polestar 5, the automaker confirmed this week. A flagship four-door electric fastback similar in size to the Tesla Model S, the Polestar 5 is due in 2024 — with a Polestar 3 SUV coming before that, in 2022.

Rivian R1S
Despite forum complaints from some Rivian customers claiming their R1S electric SUV orders have been pushed back, Rivian’s The first deliveries of the R1S appear to be on schedule in January. The automaker contacted to finalize the schedule for the various versions last week.
