Wetherby has been a very fun hunting ground for Pam Sly this season. The three runners sent to the track brought three winners to the field. Sly is in fine form elsewhere as well, two winners of her most recent four runners-up, one of which came on November 13 at Wetherby.

Making steady progress as a bumper runner, William Cody made his debut at Uttoxeter. It’s more than a half mile so far, fading from last Tuesday. The third has won since then while the second has been beaten 111 on his debut by handicap so form is solid enough for the level.
He got the right to play on that debut after setbacks, the first time he’s featured in nearly five months. As a half-brother to the Rainyday List Bumper Winner, he’s entitled to do better now in a race where a venue will certainly not be out of the question.
Eleanor Dumont is the latest in her family to debut Sly. A multi-generational family all bred by a trainer, she’s sure to be adept at debut. As a half-sister to Fransham, who won this last meeting at track 136, she’s also a half-sister to Takeit Easy, who continued to progress hurdles.
All five of her siblings participating in the race have won races so she has the family honor to sustain her career. As a Westerner, she will progress over time and some obstacles ahead but should know enough the first time to fit in.
