Chrysler Airflow concept previews the brand’s all-electric future

Because a few years now, Chrysler teased an electric concept with the name of the airflow, and now the company has finally revealed a version that appears to be coming to production. Called simply the Chrysler Airflow Concept, it appears to be a preview of what could be the brand’s first all-electric vehicle, due out in 2025.

Compared to some recent Electric Car, Airflow looks quite conservative, but not unattractive. The mesh nose is very modest, with the upper bearing the illuminated Chrysler wing badges. There is hardly a visible wrinkle on the round, organic body. The wheel arches are accentuated by taller, wider metal on the fenders. The roof is painted in trendy contrasting colors, and the rear has a thin and wide taillight bar.

Inside, the Airflow has the same soft and rounded aesthetic. Light leather is found on the doors, dashboard and seats. Most dashes also cover the screen. There’s a central display for the driver’s infotainment, with instrument displays and climate control screens on either side. The rear seats also have screens. But they all seem doable, especially considering the many screens in Jeep Grand Wagoneer. Among some of the high-tech features is the ability to customize each passenger’s screen, and information can be sent to another passenger’s screen at will. Each passenger position also has a camera for video calling.

Chrysler underestimated the mechanical details. All the company says is it has features two 201 hp electric motors, one at the front, one at the rear for all-wheel drive. Correct the battery Capacity was not given, but Chrysler says the range should be between 350 and 400 miles. In addition, the car is said to have SAE Level 3 semi-autonomous driving assistance feature called STLA AutoDrive.

Chrysler hasn’t made it clear that the Airflow is nearing production, but the concept looks like it’s almost ready to go to market. The brand also says that its first electric vehicle will launch before 2025, a step towards being fully electric by 2028.
