Chisora Rejects Hughie Fury Fight, Arreola, Hunter Possible Opponents
Boxxer Promoter Ben Shalom has revealed that heavyweight veteran Dereck Chisora is “not interested” in the fight against Hughie Fury.
Shalom had hoped to match up on Sky Sports, but Fury will now have to look elsewhere. For Chisora, now a promotional free agent, there are other options to consider.
“We are looking at options and talking to his team. We have our own idea of what is right for us,” says Shalom Sports sky.
“The other choice? Michael Hunter, Chris Arreola, maybe Dominic Breazeale.”
Chisora has ruled out retiring despite not winning a single one since beating now-retired David Price in 2019.
Since then, the 38-year-old has lost to Oleksandr Usyk and Joseph Parker twice.
Hughie Fury was ordered by the WBA to take on Robert Helenius in a world title knockout match last month and his father and coach Peter told Boxing Social they would be willing to join the bout.
Shalom, who promotes Hughie, said: “It can happen. He wants a big fight right now.”
“He also wants the winner of the Daniel Dubois vs Trevor Bryan match. He also wants to fight Bryan against Dubois, if possible. ”
