Charlie Blackmon lands on Rockies’ 10 Days IL with broken arm
Colorado midfielder Charlie Blackmon broke a bone in his right hand and is expected to be sidelined for four to six weeks.
Blackmon was put on the 10-day injury list on Sunday and Colorado called the quarterback Coco Monteswho made his major league debut in second base against Padres San Diego.
Blackmon, turning 37 on July 1, broke his fifth hand when he was hit by a throw Kansas City‘S Daniel Lynch led a game on June 3. Blackmon remained in the game and started the next four before heading off in Saturday’s loss to San Diego.
Black said: “We’ve been watching all this time and it just doesn’t feel right. “A few different X-rays showed no cracks and then based on how he was feeling the last few days Keith X-rayed him again last night and it showed. cracks,” Black said, referring to head athletic coach Keith Duggar.
Black is not surprised that Blackmon continues to play with his injury.
“Charlie is a gamer. No one likes to play more than Charlie,” Black said. “Perhaps there are some who are bound, but no one is more interested in playing.”
Blackmon is the longest-serving player on the Rockies roster. He made his major league debut in San Diego on June 7, 2011 and was a permanent player on Colorado’s roster in 2013.
He won the National League batting title, mostly headers, in 2017 when he hit a career high of 0.331 with 37 home runs, 213 hits, 137 runs. run, 104 times RBI and 14 times triplicate.
He is hitting 0.265 with five home runs this season. his fourth brace against San Francisco is the 300th film of his career, second in franchise history behind Todd Helton’s 592.
