Can-Am to support International Women’s Ride Day



International Women's Riding Day Can-Am

On Saturday, May 7, the leader of the power sports producer BRP and its Can-Am team will proudly take to the streets with female riders in more than 50 communities around the world for the 16th annual International Women’s Riding Day (IFRD). From the US and Canada to Europe, Asia and Latin America, Can-Am employees, ambassadors, dealers and vehicle owners will ride together and celebrate the importance of female riders and those their active contribution to the industry.

This is the third year in a row that Can-Am has become an official partner and supporter of IFRD, and this will be the biggest driving force for the brand. The IFRD partnership is synonymous with Can-Am’s highly regarded Women on the Road program, which addresses barriers to entry for female riders through driver education and mentoring. That program has been incredibly successful, resulting in nearly 38% of Can-Am owners being female, significantly above the industry average of 22%.

Ahead of IFRD, Can-Am will host Canadian IFRD co-founders and Vicki Gray at its corporate headquarters in Quebec. While there, Gray will have the opportunity to meet and accompany many of Can-Am’s incredible female employees who have inspired and managed the Women of On-Road program.

“It’s great to have the support and participation back from Can-Am as one of the official IFRD partners. I’m really looking forward to seeing the whole team and going together,” Gray said. “Can-Am also goes to great lengths to promote and highlight female riders and make a positive difference for women in motor racing and power sports everywhere. A sample of some of the Can-Am IFRD trips taking place on May 7, 2022:

Canada

  • In Ontario, Olympic gold medalist and member of the Canada Women’s National Hockey Team, Natalie Spooner, will join TV presenter, Sherry Holmes, for a group trip dedicated to for Can-Am owners.

USA

  • In Los Angeles, Can-Am ambassador, actress and model Karrueche Tran will host a trip with Can-Am owners Spyder and Ryker.
  • In 28 other cities across the US, the US Spyder Ryders owner group is organizing trips to mark the event.

EMEA

  • In the UK, Can-Am ambassador Sophie Morgan will ride a horse Can-Am Ryker join others in the efforts of the day.
  • In Lausanne, Switzerland, the Can-Am group based at the BRP office will take to the streets to celebrate.
  • In Germany, the Ladies Riding Class community, consisting of about 30 members, will also hit the road for the event.

APAC

  • In Sydney, Australia, Can-Am Ambassador, Helen Chik, editor of the popular lifestyle magazine Grazia will ride her Ryker with the others to celebrate the day.

LATAM

  • In Puerto Rico, singer-songwriter Calma Carmona will also be taking part in the “GRRRL Ride” event behind the wheel of her Can-Am Ryker.
