The FOX Australian Supercross 2022 Championship culminated with Round 4 in Wagga Wagga over the weekend, with Team Honda HRC Australia taking the SX1 and SX2 titles, with Justin Brayton and Max Anstie taking the top title, while Matt Moss and Col Thompson won the title overall.
A tough night of racing at Wagga Wagga saw defending champion Brayton put himself in a good position in the opening main event of a double header, only to suffer a strange conceding moment from the checkered flag. . This helped him win P4 while rival Matt Moss won and tightened the rankings considerably.
In the two main matches, Brayton made a measured but high-pressure ride to another fourth place, and in doing so secured the 2022 FOX Australian Supercross championship in the SX1 Division by one point over Moss. , marking his fifth consecutive coronation.
Justin Brayton – SX1 Champion
“Definitely one of the most intense race nights of my career, we’ve been up against it this season and certainly faced some challenges. For me to leave my family and come here; I expected nothing more than to win. Dad doesn’t leave for weeks to not get work done. The number of years is extremely special for that reason. It feels great to get work done on a genuine Honda CRF450R! Thinking back on all the success we’ve had in our title-winning seasons is puzzling.can eat. It wasn’t an easy night, but we got the job done as a team and that’s what matters!”
Dylan’s Will – P4
“Tonight was great, although the track was pretty much damaged in the conditions. It’s very dusty out there, so fighting in the herd is really tough and I’m trying to be patient. The heat race went well, but then I sprained my ankle a bit in a collision in the first final – still taking sixth place in that game. We then went solid for P5 in the second final to take fifth overall and also fourth in the championship. I feel the FC 450 really suits my style, it’s been a great season and the Husqvarna Team has been unbelievable all year.”
Kyle Webster – P5
“It’s been a consistent night at Wagga Wagga and that’s really the sum total of the past few weeks. I’m happy with my whole season, but it’s great to be on the podium! The highlight was getting through the first qualifying round in the final round. Congratulations to my teammates on a great season.”

In Division SX2, Max Anstie continued his fine form in Australia, combining a well-calculated night to comfortably win the title with a final step on the podium, trailing him by 16 points.
Thompson finished second in the title race, ahead of Crawford.
Cole Thompson of Serco Yamaha took the overall win of the night, with Nathan Crawford finishing second on the Wagga Wagga podium.
Max Anstie – SX2 Champion
“What a season with Team HRC Australia! I’ve said it a lot, but I’ve enjoyed my time here. Winning the championship makes things so much sweeter and I hope that we can keep this up in 2023. Things are going right now!
Nathan Crawford – P3
“The track was pretty broken, but it was still rough and I did my best to come forward tonight, finishing second on the night and finishing third in the championship! Ending the season with my best round of transcendence this year has been really good, so I’m really happy and now I can expect to become even stronger next year.”
Noah Ferguson – P5
“Tonight’s race was very rough with the sun setting and dusty, so while the results were fine I’m not really happy with how things turned out in the end. However, it was a great first season of transcendence for me, I tried it for the first time and we were able to get through all four rounds. It was a good experience, I am healthy after all and now I can set goals for next year. It definitely ignites the fire!
Wilson Todd – P6
“It was great to end my season with a win in the last race, but missing the podium was a shock. I’m pleased with the steps we’ve taken and know there’s more to come!
Jai Constantinou – P8
“Tonight they are extremely difficult conditions,” said Constantinou. “I felt the heat race was promising, but then in the final I was happy to get through them safely. It’s tough out there with broken rails and dust. I’m happy, we’ve learned a lot this season and it’s good to continue to progress in the sublime.”
Haruki Yokoyama – P12
“Tonight didn’t go as I wanted. My suspension is closer to the motocross setting and it’s not suitable for this race tonight. I struggled a lot. I still have a lot to learn, but it’s not too bad, and I hope to be back next year in the transcendental series again.
