Hello friends and welcome to another edition of Box Art Brawl!
Last week, to celebrate the spooky Halloween season, we watched Silent Hill: Broken Memories for the Wii, breaking North America and Europe against Japan. While many appreciated the western design for the game, it was Japan in the end that won the week with 66% of the vote – well done, Japan!
This week, we take a look at one of the launch titles for the Game Boy Advance: F-Zero: Maximum speed. One of the highlights of the console’s launch lineup, the Maximum Velocity, is without a doubt, one of the highlights of the console’s debut lineup, the Maximum Velocity, which is pure F-Zero, throughout, garnering a standing ovation from critics as well as critics. fan.
The Western box art for the F-Zero Velocity is pretty much the same here, so North America and Europe will once again team up to take on a Japanese landscape approach.

North America / Europe
The Western Approach to F-Zero: Top Velocity, all told, very F-Zero. We have a bunch of vehicles speeding toward the viewer, with Megan’s Hot Violet front and center. We particularly like how the Hot Violet overlaps the Game Boy Advance logo on the left-hand side, and overall, the design works quite well with its simplicity.
Will it be enough to secure a win for North America and Europe..?
Japan
The Japanese approach to the game is completely different, once again making full use of the landscape orientation. Hot Violet is the star of the show here, much like the design of the West, but instead we get a face-to-face view of the car, almost like some kind of blueprint design. The background, featuring planets and stars, isn’t necessarily the most obvious thing that comes to mind when someone mentions F-Zero, but we think it works remarkably well here.
