The Travel BMW M3 G81, the first M3 wagon, is now available to order in Thailand. M3 Touring Appears competition form only, with an eight-speed automatic transmission and xDrive all-wheel drive. Price? 10,399,000 baht, or RM1,376 million.

An M3 wagon is something many enthusiasts have craved for decades, but oddly enough, BMW has never used the M3 formula on the 3 Series Touring. Until 2022when Munich marked 50th Anniversary BMW USA with this car.

Under the hood is a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged, in-line six-cylinder S58 engine with specs of 510 PS at 6,250 rpm and 650 Nm of torque from 2,750 to 5,500 rpm. There’s no manual or pure rear-wheel drive option, so it’s an eight-speed automatic with M xDrive AWD, which has an active-locking rear differential and rear-wheel drive mode if that’s the preference. your.

M3 Touring accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in just 3.6 seconds, only 1/10 of a second slower than the M3 Sedan and M4 Coupe. The powerful M car hits 200 km/h in just 12.9 seconds, and choosing the M Driver Package raises the electronically limited top speed to 280 km/h.

Of course, there’s also some work on the chassis. The M division took into account the larger, heavier body and fitted an upgraded rear shock absorber to match. The structure itself has been reinforced with a specific floor and boot brace to maintain torsional stiffness. Adaptive dampers and variable-ratio steering are standard.

The rest of the M goodies are shared with sedans and coupes – they include 10-step traction control integrated in the ECU, wire brakes and M Compound disc brakes hidden behind standard 19-inch front and 20-inch wheels rear forged alloy. Carbon ceramic brakes and track tires are on the options list.

The G21 3 Series Touring gets the same design treatment as the other M3/M4 variants, meaning a full-height grille, trapezoidal headlights, split-center air intakes and vertical air intakes. Muscular fenders, diagonal side skirts and heavily sculpted bonnet with faux ‘vents’ are also included.

However, unlike other M cars, the M3 Touring doesn’t have a carbon fiber roof; the metal paneling is painted black instead, although you can specify a body-colored finish along with the door mirrors. At the rear you’ll find a huge rectangular diffuser (with four tailpipes, optionally available in chrome) complemented by a bespoke Gurney flap on the rear door spoiler.

Like the exterior, the M3 Touring gets the same interior enhancements as the sedan and coupe. However, those two body styles don’t have the wagon’s 500-liter trunk space, which can be expanded to 1,510 liters by folding the foldable rear seats in a ratio of 40:20:40.
