When the family of a black Labrador Retriever named Maverick decided to decorate their lawn with spooky cat clippings for Halloween, the adorable Lab had an unexpected reaction.
In the viral video that is now going viral on the internet, the petrified puppy is completely hysterical while watching the creepy cats. Sweet Maverick finds himself so scared that he literally freezes.
As the video begins, the cameraman slowly approaches the gorgeous Black Lab as he freezes to death from fear. Cutouts of black cats are arranged around him on the lawn as he blends into the spooky scene. Maverick doesn’t move his muscles as the cameraman slowly shows us different angles of the silly script. Off the screen, you can even hear his name being called over and over again. But Maverick still did not dare to move.
The only sign that he was even alive was one of his ears twitching slightly. Not only did he turn away, but he stood so still that someone almost pressed his pause button. Giggling can be heard in the background as his family observes his hysterical behavior. Who knew their silly sidekick would react this way?
Maverick stood as still as a statue for the duration of the video until final started wagging his tail. As the cameraman approached and then stood right next to him, he decided to move. As you might have guessed, the decorations were still firmly planted in the ground as Maverick made his hasty getaway.
But it’s clear that it’s not just his family that finds his “frozen reaction” funny. More than a million likes and thousands of comments have been made below the video on Tiktok. Most of the comments are jokes, including humorous sarcasm such as “he won the mannequin test” and “I not convinced that he is more than just another decorator. “
It’s impressive that he can still stand while also asking so many questions. I wonder what it was about the decorations that made Maverick react this way? Is he afraid of cats or just afraid of cats?
