Saturday saw an excellent double header on ITV Racing are from Sandown and Aintree. NS Tingle Creek was a feature in the past but with the large fences being used at Aintree we couldn’t resist looking at Becher. With 6 and 7 slots available, it looks like a great contest for every playstyle. Both Owen and Matt have found expensive options for the race.
“Looks like it’s worth the price”
Becher has always been fiercely competitive and so it seems worth the big price tag, with Domaine De L’Isle most attractive. When he was just eight years old, he won a handicap match at Kempton and Cheltenham to end last season. He loves going back to trips staying for later trips, traveling strong the whole way and ultimately winning with a lot of his sleeves.
His seasonal return at Cheltenham has been a subpar effort, but it is still early days for him in the stay gap. He’s in winning form based on his cards so the ground shouldn’t be an issue. Given his good fitness in the race, if he can jump as well as he did at Cheltenham over these new fences, he will be a big player for David Bass – Owen Goulding

Going back to the action in Charlie Hall doesn’t really give us strong guidance as to where Top Ville Ben The time now is. It was, without a doubt, disappointing but he was also very well seen in the same race back in 2019. He was then beaten only by a long stretch in the Race. chasing rehearsals and skating in Rowland Meyrick.
That Christmas contest was the last time he raced in the handicap company, 4 pounds less here than when the winner was an impressive eight. These fences can only bring him back to life, he will not be the first nor the last and from a very compelling mark on his best form he is entitled to have another chance – Matt Newman
