Bernard Hopkins makes extremely accurate predictions about Canelo-GGG 3
American boxing legend Bernard Hopkins made his prediction for how he thinks the trio fights between Canelo Alvarez and Gennadiy Golovkin on September 17 will play outside.
Hopkins believes Canelo Alvarez will end any controversy over his record against Gennadiy Golovkin when the two meet next month.
Today’s two greats will face off for the third time at T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, the same venue as their first two games.
Winning the championship is Canelo’s Undisputed Super Average Title but winning the showdown will mean the same for the Mexicans.
When asked about the battle of Little Giant BoxingHopkins says:
“Triple G has always been one punch away from restarting his career – he’s a puncher, that’s how he got here and that’s how he was exposed. I believe in Canelo. I think there will be many attacks from both sides.
“I’m picking Canelo by stop.”
‘The Executioner’ went on to say as he saw the pause happen:
“I talk about the seventh round, maybe the sixth. I don’t see this as a fight that will be as exciting as the first two.
“I think this is going to be a clear, clear decision, not going 12 laps.
“So I predict that Canelo will find his groove and make it look easier and then be stopped on the sixth or seventh lap.”
If that wasn’t accurate enough, the former two-weight world champion even predicted the exact shot that Canelo would end the match with:
“Looks like it’s probably going to drop a beat – I think that’s going to be a shot of the liver.”
Golovkin’s last outing saw him stop Ryota Murata in nine rounds at the Super Arena in Saitama, Japan in April to add the WBA Super world middleweight title to his IBO and IBF titles.
Canelo entered the fight after the second defeat of his career. The 32-year-old tennis player, who has won multiple world championships in four weight divisions, lost to Dmitry Bivol of Russia by unanimous decision when he challenged for the WBA title at light-heavyweight back in May.
