Astros-Phillies World Series Game 3 highlights, lineups, etc

After a bit of a weather delay, Game 3 of the World Series is officially out.

The Philadelphia Phillies brought Game 1 in an interesting, technical way back from being 5-0 down first Houston Astros. However, the Astros took another 5-0 lead in Game 2, and that time it stuck. The series is in Philadelphia’s favor with a 1-1 scoreline, and whoever wins this match could gain momentum going through.

Here are the best sights and sounds from Game 3.

More exciting things for Philly

The Phillies home run parade continues.

Philadelphia ends Astros start Lance McCullers Jr. is the evening of the fifth inning with two home runs. The first came from midfielder Phillies Kyle Schwarber, who smashed an 87.9 mph shift over the center fence and tally at 443 feet. Expansion explosion leads to 6-0, hit on Brandon Marsh, who chose to get the base. The second one comes from the first baseman Rhys Hoskinswho blasted an 85.1 mph slider over the left fence to make it 7-0.

The McCullers ended the evening with 4 innings of 1/3 pitched, allowing for six hits, seven earned on foot, five strikes and five home runs. The McCullers are currently tied for the most home runs allowed in a single World – and the other pitchers need multiple games to hit that mark. – Joon Lee

Marsh adds to Phillies’ lead

Brandon Marsh just enough. Just enough.

With Philadelphia up 3-0 with two second-half appearances, the Phillies central midfielder faced 2-0 ahead of the Astros starter Lance McCullers Jr. and turned on the 83.7 mph swinging slider to drive just enough over the fence, extending the lead to 4-0.

The home run marked Philadelphia’s third in two innings, after Bryce Harper and one stayed by Alec Bohm to lead the second inning.

Umpires reviewed the baseball to confirm it passed the fence, with replay reviews showing a young fan dropping the baseball back onto the field.

Harper can have a magic touch. Before Bohm’s attack, Harper called the Phillies’ third keeper to tell him something. Bohm then knocked a player first at 93.2 mph over the left court fence. However, what Harper told Bohm remains a mystery. When asked by Fox about what Harper had said, Bohm declined to comment. – Joon Lee

A strong alliance

The World Series rivalry between the Astros and the Phillies extends beyond the field and into the kitchens of Philadelphia restaurants.

Two popular Philadelphia restaurants – Angelo’s Pizzeria and Mike’s BBQ – declined requests for service from the Houston Astros.

In a post on Mike’s BBQ’s Instagram account, Astros nutritionist Lisa Clarke went to the restaurant hoping to order food for the team. But in the post, Clarke mentions a “Gil” and appears to be looking for Latin food, not served at Mike’s.

Philadelphia net followers theorized that the team might be trying to reach Gil Arends, co-owner of Puyero Venezuela Flavor, a restaurant serving Latin fare.

On Angelo’s . pizzeria Instagram Storiesowner Danny DiGiampietro insists he didn’t cook for the Astros after Phillies fans confused his restaurant with Angelo’s, which serves hoagies.

No word if the Astros can eat the food before Game 3. – Joon Lee
