Artist Masayuki Doi Comments on Nahobiho in SMT V: Vengeance
Atlus recently share a few words from artist and character designer Masayuki Doi on the upcoming new demon Nahobiho SMT V: Vengeance.
The artist revealed that Nahobiho does not belong to the Nahobino race, also known as the God of Unity or Gouittsujin in Japanese. Instead, they were of the Fairy race, Jack Frost, admired and wished to become Nahobino, so they trained until they became stronger and achieved this new form.
Doi also shared that Nahobiho is a demon that fans played in the original SMT V release was expected to see in the game. He also mentioned that the character Frost is based on a main character who never appeared in one issue Megaten entry, as Raiho and Ai-ho are Frost versions of Raidou Kuzunoha in Demon Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha spin-off series and Ringo from the recent season Soul Hacker 2.
The new demon Nahobiho was initially introduced in the reveal trailer of SMT V: Vengeance. However, The second trailer was released recently sees players controlling Nahobiho on the open battlefield and not just as an allied demon to be used in battle. We still don’t know how this mechanic will work. A recent trailer also shows off the new one The Devil’s Backyard Mechanic (or Devil’s Haunt).
Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance will launch for Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC via Steam on June 14, 2024.
