As O’Nions discusses, it can be easy to fall into the habit of following trends or falling prey to the opinions of others. Of course, if you’re a professional, you should pay attention to trends and understand what your customers might ask of you, but if you’re a hobbyist, you owe it to no one but yourself and it’s important to keep that in mind. After all, we pursue photography as a hobby because we love it, and it is important that we keep that in our hearts so as not to lose our love for the profession.
