Another major cruise line now offers you money for referring a friend

Dutch US fans, take note: The line will now pay you for referring a friend to the line.

The Seattle-based yacht operator late Monday announced that it is launching a referral program that will get you $50 worth of line credit every time you refer a cruise ship. last friend made a reservation. Your friend will also receive $50.

It’s called the Refer a Friend program. Under the terms, referred guests will receive a $50 onboard credit that can be used for all types of onboard spending as they travel. This includes paying for drinks, spa services, and shore excursions.

The referrer will receive a credit of $50 for a future trip, which can be applied to the cost of an upcoming trip.

“The best brand ambassadors are ours [loyal fans] people who know our brand and know who would love to cruise Holland America Line for the first time,” Holland America CEO Beth Bodensteiner said in a statement accompanying the announcement.

Two main notes to the program:

Travelers can use a $50 future cruise credit towards the fare of any Holland America trip worldwide. It is also valid for Dutch “cruises” to Alaska that combine an excursion with a land excursion.

With the new program, Holland America joins several other major cruise lines, including Seabourn, Princess Cruises and Viking, which offer credits for referring passengers with payments ranging from $25 to $250.

The Viking referral program offers both the referr and the referee a $100 worth of travel credit. However, the company offers an additional perk for fans who refer a large number of friends within a year.

If you manage to introduce 13 people to the Vikings, who go on their first Viking excursion within a calendar year (a near-impossible task in our opinion, but you’ll have plenty power if you can), you’ll get a much more lucrative perk: A completely free excursion (up to $3,300 worth).

Viking policy is part of the company Viking Explorer Society Loyalty Program.
