There’s been a lot of development news lately with Alaska Airlines Mileage Package loyalty program. At the end of September, Alaska announced there will be a new award leaderboard and some change with partner’s booking. A week later, Alaska announced that Cathay Pacific redemption is now available to book online.
It now appears that LATAM Airlines ticket redemption can also be booked online through the Mileage Plan.

As of November 3, Alaska Mileage Plan added online bookings for LATAM. Previously, you needed to call Alaska to place any bonus on LATAM, although you can usually book all other partner bonuses online.
This is definitely a good thing as you used to have to pay a one-time $15 phone booking fee. This essentially leaves you with no other choice as your only option is to make a reservation on the phone.

You can now redeem your Alaska Journey Package miles to travel on LATAM Airlines online. Although there are better ways to use Alaska Mileage Plan miles, redeeming them on LATAM business class to and from South America offers solid redemption value. Also, with the potential for devaluation coming, it might be a good idea to close an award flight on LATAM now, even if that flight is done in 2023.
