Benedict Cumberbatch won’t be a favorite in his latest role, but he’s sure to get some nominations.
He plays Phil Burbank, a sly cowboy who is unkind to his younger brother, George (played by Jesse Plemons), who is married to a beautiful widow named Rose Gordon (Kirsten Dunst).
Phil is pretty much something that rhymes with glass bowls. But writer-director Jane Campion’s film has powerful things to say about masculinity, change, and relationships.
It has been showing in select theaters since November 17 and is currently streaming on Netflix.
‘The Great’ Part 2
If, like me, you like your history served with a side of clumsiness and less precision, then I just have a series for you.
Season two of “The Great” just ended and I talked to the stars of the series, Elle Fanning and Nicholas Hoult, who play Catherine the Great and Peter III, aka the queen and emperor of 18th century Russia, about what’s in store.
This comedy is super dumb. It even makes fun of the infamous – and untrue – story that Catherine the Great died while trying to have sex with a horse, an urban legend Hoult says it has no effect on her legacy.
“It’s a strange thing when you break it down and realize that this woman has accomplished so many wonderful things, changing a country, advancing science and education,” Hoult added. “She’s so progressive.”
Season two of “The Great” is currently streaming on Hulu.
‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid’
This is one of those friendly family.
Disney+ has turned Jeff Kinney’s beloved children’s series into an animated adventure.
“Diary of a Wimpy Kid” revolves around seventh grader Greg Heffley (voiced by Brady Noon), a boy with an active imagination and determination to become rich and famous.
But first he has to survive the middle school.
There are plenty of fun and entertaining characters, including Greg’s best friend, Rowley Jefferson (Ethan William Childress), to help Greg fill out the pages of his diary.
It is currently streaming on Disney+.

So get ready to dance… your interest to some music that will probably be, like shows, only for adults.

Speaking of being celebrated by people: I’m not trying to put celebrities on a pedestal, but honest and kind Ryan Reynolds seems to be a lovable human being.
Canada thinks so too.
His home country recently honored the “Deadpool” actor and businessman with the Governor General’s Performing Arts Award.
Our neighbors to the north have also put together a rather funny and moving video of Barenaked Ladies singer Steven Page honoring the star in the form of the song “Canada Loves You Back”.
“I’m not crying,” Reynolds joked in the caption. “It’s just maple syrup.”
Ryan Reynolds in his opinion is all we need to be in our lives. Oh, Canada.
