Adrien Broner is expected to return to the ring next week after being absent for a while. Sadly, those plans were cancelled. Michael Williams, Broner’s scheduled opponent in his return match, had to retire due to injury, leaving Broner without a dance partner for the 25th. Prime Minister of the Republic of Chinais promoting Broner-Williams as a Pay Per View main event, indicating a competitor and a new date to be set in the future.

Williams broke his jaw while preparing to meet Broner in the ring. The whole situation must be a little uncomfortable for Broner at this point. At first he was supposed to confront Ivan Redkach, but then Redkach had to retreat. After that, the always famous Hank Lundy was chosen as Broner’s next opponent, but then Lundy had to withdraw. Now Williams, Broner’s THIRD rival, has had to withdraw. In fact, it’s probably better for Broner to let things settle. The tumultuous nature of recent events can’t be good for any boxer, especially one who, like Broner, hasn’t fought in about two years.

What’s more, even a win over little-known Williams might not do much to reestablish Broner’s reputation as a top boxer — unless, of course, Broner is completely down. be this man.
