Adam Thielen injury update: Vikings WR ruled out after ankle injury against Lions

The Vikings lost one of their top received weapons earlier in their Week 13 match against the Lions.

Adam Thielen suffered an ankle injury in the Vikings’ first game. He caught a pass without benefit and was dealt. His ankle got caught in the defender on landing, and he limped.

Thielen was initially said to have “problems” to return to the game. However, the Vikings announced before the second half began that Thielen would be sidelined for the rest of the competition due to an ankle injury.

Thielen’s absence would weaken Minnesota’s receptive corps. The Vikings will have to rely on Justin Jefferson as the team’s actual #1 receiver with Thielen unavailable while KJ Osborn will step into the role of #2 receiver for the Vikings. Dede Westbrook will also get more playtime; he will be the team’s new number 3 receiver.

Tyler Conklin’s tight finish can also see more goals. He almost caught a touchdown earlier in the game but barely over the limit.

Minnesota’s top running defender, Dalvin Cook, has been off Week 13 with a shoulder injury, so the Vikings will be sorely lacking in offensive weapons as they look for a stellar win over the Invincible Lions.
