Remember when someone new to photo editing is simply wrong in the aspect of doing less. Modern editing programs are incredibly powerful, and it can very easily take things too far and end up with a result that’s too contrived or gaudy. Some ways to work around this include using the before/after function to check your editing progress every few minutes, or leaving the computer for a few minutes when you’re done editing to allow your eyes to reset.
