There are few cars in the world that work harder. United States Postal Service Grumman LLV have been around since they first hit the road in the mid-1980s. Well, after about 38 years, most of them are in pretty bad shape. Because of that, Post office need a team mechanics improve these poor little machines almost around the clock. Luckily for us, one of the mechanics was showing us what the inside of these white boxes looked like.
Domfromthepostoffice TikTok account started posting just five days ago, but has already amassed 5,000 followers and 3 million views in just seven videos. Impressive. In these videos, Dom shows us how to maintain mail truck has been used and abused for decades. We can also look at how these trucks cleaned up. In his first videoDom shows us what “decades of rubber bands” and other small pieces of junk look like on the floor of an LLV. He even shoots water on the walls of the truckand we can see gallons of liquid running down the sides. It’s disgusting. He posted the “after” in another video, and while it’s not perfect, it’s a lot better than before.
Dom also takes us through what flat weights at the rear of the LLV is for. Obviously for traction. When there is no load in the rear truckIt has a hard time sticking to loose surfaces. Who knows? Of course, they are in rough condition too.
