Philadelphia Super star Bryce Harper According to the team, Tommy John underwent successful surgery on his right elbow on Wednesday.
The Phillies said Harper is expected to return as a designated player by the 2023 All-Star break and could return to action properly at the end of the regular season.
An elbow injury that Harper first suffered in April limited his ability to throw and forced him to play only in the designated hitter position for most of the 2022 MLB season.
Harper played a key role in the Phillies’ run to the World Series. He won 18–43 with five home runs in the first three rounds of the 2022 MLB knockouts. He also assisted the Phillies’ comeback win in Game 1 of the World Series and hit a run home to ignite the Philadelphia home crowd in the Phillies’ Game 3 win.
