Waldorf Astoria New York has an executive leadership team

The first and only time I stayed at the Waldorf Astoria New York was after spending several nights previously at a motel in Brooklyn. I was in New York City, deciding if I wanted to pursue my dream of becoming a travel journalist. My best friend surprised me by spending a night at one of the city’s most iconic hotels (despite how broke we really were, having just finished college). to “taste” what life would be like if I followed my dreams.

Luckily for me, it worked out.

Now, nearly 10 years after that stay and several years after closing for a massive remodeling project, Waldorf Astoria New York aims to make a triumphant return later this year. With that, we finally have news from the hotel’s management team, giving us a little more insight into what we can expect when the hotel reopens.

The team is led by chief executive Luigi Romaniello, a 30-year hotel veteran who most recently served as chief executive of New York’s other most famous hotel, square. Other key players include Jasmin Howanietz, director of sales operations; Maggie Mojica, group sales director; Michael Gubbins, director of property operations; Harrison Rohr, director of catering; Amanda Dempsey, marketing director; and Steven Snyder, chief human resources officer.

Once reopened, Waldorf Astoria New York will feature 375 rooms and suites, private residences available for purchase, 43,000 square feet of event space, and a design philosophy by Pierre-Yves Rochon reminiscent of Golden age but still modern features of the hotel.
