There are people love jeans to their very core, and those who wear them are simply not convenient. Consider me one of the latter. Yes they are Timeless and one of the rare staples That never goes out of style, but jeans don’t excite me either. Combine that with the trauma of shopping for IRL denim (when you’re pear-shaped, it’s not very pleasant), and there are solid reasons why it’s one of my favorites.
But when it comes to fashion, my opinions can fly like the wind, so I’m always open to reconsidering my stance. I did it with low-rise pants (they’re currently one of my favorites) and it looks like denim is being re-evaluated. What helped turn the tide was the wave of unique jeans that were both fun and edgy. They turn the classic straight leg washed blue on top of it with unexpected quirks (like a built-in kilt and color-blocked patchwork as you’ll see below). The whole trend of upgrading basic jeans into a moment compared to a pair of pants just in the background. And everyone from Loewe to H&M is getting in on it.
