Elon Musk says Tesla Cybertruck will have a four-engine variant

Tesla Boss Elon Musk said on Friday, much to be expected Tesla Cybertruck will come with a premium four-engine variant.

“Initial production will be four engine variants, with extremely responsive, independent torque control of each wheel,” Musk said in a tweet.

Call for electric pickup truck Musk said the Cybertruck will have both front and rear wheels to “not only (turn) like a tank – it can steer diagonally like a crab”.

Vehicles will compete with pickup truck such as GMC’s Hummer EV, Ford F-150 Lightning and By Rivian R1T. Among them, the R1T is driven by four individual motors that power all four wheels, and GMC’s Hummer can drive diagonally.

Tesla’s pickup truck, first announced in 2019, is made of the stainless steel used in the rocket, and Musk claims to have received several hundred thousand orders for the Cybertruck when pre-orders opened.

Musk said he will update on the Tesla product roadmap during his next earnings call. Development of the Cybertruck has faced delays, but production is now expected to begin next year and hit mass production in 2023.
