The Dell XPS 15 is a great laptop for those who want to do a little bit of everything. Gaming might not be your top priority if you buy this machine, but you still want it to be capable—and rightfully so. Admittedly, it is possible to do everything comes at a premium, so you’ll pay a premium for the XPS 15.
This professional-looking device can hit 30fps on UHD screens at low settings for more aesthetically pleasing titles such as border zone 3 and Belief Assassin Valhalla. To get the most out of this 60 Hz panel, you’ll have to drop down to the QHD resolution. For frame-hungry players, top legend will hit 60 fps on very high graphics options. All this is achieved through our test model configuration of Core i7-12700H, RTX 3050Ti and 16 GB of RAM.
There’s also a great keyboard—lots of scrolling and satisfying clicks—and a large trackpad. The large 3.5K 16:10 aspect ratio OLED display is brilliant with deep blacks and outstanding colors. Port selection isn’t bad—with 3x Thunderbolt 4, a headphone jack, and an SD card reader. The speaker is an interesting proposition with excellent detail—even at high volume—and a wide soundstage. However, the bass is good but not as explosive and forceful as rival MacBook Pro devices.
