KTM announced the release of the updated KTM 1290 Super Adventure R, which the company says is geared towards “hardcore off-road adventurers who want and need a premium kit to tackle any landscape or terrain Figure.”
KTM 1290 Super Adventure R 2023 is still equipped with a 1,301 cc LC8 V-Twin engine, producing 160 hp and approximately 102 lb-ft of torque, combined with a 6-speed Pankl gearbox, anti-clutch clutch slide/PASC support and optional Quick Shift+.

When we put the KTM 1290 Super Adventure R 2022 on Jett Tuning’s starter, it produced 126 hp at 9,100 rpm and 88 lb-ft of torque at 8,000 rpm on the rear wheels at Sports mode. In Off-road mode, it produces 81 hp at 6,600 rpm and 62 lb-ft of torque at 6,900 rpm.
KTM 1290 Super Adventure R features fully adjustable WP XPLOR suspension, with 48mm twin-tube forks, Progressive Damping System rear shock and 8.7-inch travel at both ends.
KTM says the suspension generates maximum response through Alpina aluminum spoked wheels, with an improved sealing system suitable for tubeless tyres. KTM 1290 Super Adventure R 2023 is equipped with Bridgestone AX41s.

For 2023, KTM has enhanced the navigation of the KTM 1290 Super Adventure R. Advanced Turn-by-Turn+ guidance and the ability to set waypoints and redirects are now both possible. through the steering wheel and 7-inch TFT display. No need to fight the bike and look for a phone with the KTMConnect app; everything – including answering phone calls and recording the top ten “favorites” – can be done with the tap of a finger.
